Advancing Climate and Environmental Governance

Exploring the Himalayas

At JSW Law, we operate under the conviction that the "Himalayas are your library," recognizing that the profound complexities of our changing planet cannot be contained within four walls. Our curriculum transcends traditional boundaries through field-based learning, placing students directly within local communities to learn the realities of glacial melt and erratic weather patterns. This immersive approach is bolstered by experiential clinics in both Bhutan and Chiang Mai, Thailand, where students bridge the gap between theory and practice, and are exposed to case studies that take students beyond the borders of Bhutan. By contributing to the Center’s ongoing research, participants gain the unique opportunity to influence environmental governance across the entire Hindu Kush Himalaya (HKH) region, all while collaborating with a global network of scholars and experts dedicated to solving the climate crisis.
