Mid-March the Centre’s Graduate students, along with the Environmental Law Clinic students traveled to Laya for data collection as part of the Centre’s UNICEF Child Protection Project.

In early March, our Graduate and Environmental Law Clinic students traveled to  Laya for the “UNICEF: Climate Change Impact on Children in Bhutan” project.

Under the guidance of the Assistant Dean, the team successfully surveyed households across five villages in Laya. After six intense days of data collection, the students enjoyed a well-earned break hiking to the Highland Festival site before heading to their next location.

Next Stop: Punakha The project continued in the Mo Chhu floodplains, where students met with farming communities who balance the benefits of fertile soil with the constant threat of climate-driven flooding. This inaugural trip marks the beginning of a larger initiative covering seven of Bhutan’s most climate-vulnerable districts.
